Oh man, I wonder what the over/under on them doing a "celebrate cake" doodle is now.
Bonus fun: The pie vs cake warriors tearing the internet to pieces in the wake of Google doing one or the other first.

Whenever anyone talks about how humanity has crawled away, finally, from their superstitious beginnings, I throw back my head, laugh for 45 solid seconds, and then kill them

Springfield, Missouri had quite a quandry
they really wanted some new flagpole laundry.
One of those occasional wonderful days
where the trivial relieves the public's worn gaze.
The cranks and the kooks shamble out of their holes
clutching their binders and crayons and scrolls.
They purposefully amble towards city hall
a rare note of harmony, bringing laughter to all.

Mazars is no longer handling the Trump Organization's finances, citing "a non-waivable conflict" and says the TO's tax records from 2010-present can't be relied on. The "non-waivable conflict" would seem to be that if anybody asks Mazars how this happened, they're going to respond by saying the TO committed tax fraud.
I've said before that, while it's hard for me to see any scenario where Trump or his immediate family is actually criminally charged with anything personally at this point, the financial investigation against the Trump Organization could potentially do some real monetary damage to them. This isn't one of the shell corps or branding exercises set up to use the Trump name and let somebody else take the fall when it fails; this is where their real (if exaggerated) money is. And this is the kind of thing that makes lenders nervous.

Two men posed as Homeland Security agents, gave gifts, bribes to Secret Service officers for reasons which are so far unclear.
Obviously the first thing you think of is "Assassination attempt?", which... maybe?
Regardless, where the fuck did these guys get all that money? Like, we're talking at MINIMUM six-figures and possibly over a million.
Update: So these guys started this operation in February 2020. Someone pointed out that that's a month after the US hit Solemani. And one of the guys they nabbed is named TAHERZADEH.
I am VERY MUCH hoping this was not in fact the Iranians (would specifically have been the IRGC) and for now that's really speculative, but, uh... like, yeah, this style of incredibly patient and insidious revenge op is absolutely something which FEELS VERY PERSIAN (this is my incredibly unbiased and scientific assessment, obv).
Turning USSS agents by flashing QAnon symbols is wild though. I mean, it's also banal, but still wild.

The RNC has withdrawn from the Commission on Presidential Debates, which I guess means no more presidential debates.
I think there's a Critic meme for that.
