Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
Though TBH, SNL is so bad now those just sound like normal SNL skit ideas.
Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
I'd always heard that SNL is generally pretty hostile to guests suggesting ideas, but also they're extremely deferential to rich people so we'll see how that goes.

The shrugging Elon one is especially wonderfully idiotic.
I can't wait for the day Elon goes up in one of his own rockets.

Space-X rockets drop shit so often that they actually have a 1-800 hotline to report fallen debris.

Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
BTW a while back we were talking about changing this thread's name since Actual-Notch is just a clueless racist sad sack, where Elon's not even in the same room anymore.
I don't know about anyone else, but yesterday I couldn't help but giggle when I thought of "The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Elon Sleazebaggano".
"Hey, ya wanna buy a rocket?"

Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
the packet says "Raw Kits" and has a smaller packet inside that says "Do Not Eat"
that, that smaller one is the rocket
that, that smaller one is the rocket
Placeholder for something witty that doesn't make me sound like an asshole

$14K with one button press that will probably be refunded back to the right source in a timely manner, but hasn't yet, is an "innocent mistake" with a "quick fix" to these people. I almost wouldn't have believed the original tweet, but the guy it happened to still defending their tesla is too realistic.
Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
I think my favourite part is them not even questioning the car's need to have their card details stored in the first place. Like what does a valid purpose for that even look like - downloading a vehicle software upgrade seems like a parked on the drive at home or GTFO kind of idea to me. Not if I have any place to be the next morning either.
My other favourite part is the syringe emojiis in their screen name, and it's also that "convincing myself I'm into daddy's fetishes" profile pic. The whole thing looks like a low effort side character from the next GTA outing.

I think the "innocent mistake" is the father-in-law accidentally turning on autopilot, and the "quick fix" is a tesla rep on phone giving a verbal agreement to return funds.

Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
I'd be fucking losing it at AMEX. How does a $14k purchase go through without the slightest safeguard or check by your CC company??
Like okay, maybe this guy makes that much an hour and so has stupidly high limits? But I feel like if that was true he wouldn't be posting "OMG $14k wtf" in the first place.

TBF it is AMEX. Getting what you paid for there.
Tesla have invented Cars-as-a-Service and their entire customer base is hapless whales. It's awe inspiring in its way.

Well there's a reason it's still not accepted in a lot of places the other two of the big three are, even fifty, sixty years on.
Re: The Continuing (Mis)adventures of Car Notch
You know, good as this thread's title is, it's not really fair on Markus. He sold me early access to Minecraft for a tenner and his company's still throwing out free updates a decade later.
