Someone went and left Elon's jar out of the fridge, with the lid not screwed on properly.
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
What the fuck is wrong with them? Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with them? Just had to go "WOKE BAD" to their fucking moron hero?
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
The woke mob famously believes people are multidimensional beings trapped in their prisons of flesh by the betrayer god Zolok.

Seriously! And if anything, that could be used as an argument FOR trans rights. If we are just brains in a jar, why can't I go from a blue jar to a pink jar?

I actually have a whole rant about how the classic "you are just your brain and it can be slotted into any ol' thing and that thing has your total personality" trope is completely wrong from a biological standpoint, but I guess if the inventor of the electric space shuttle thinks it then it must be true.

You're actually your brain and three people who follow you around and act out aspects of your personality.

The best sci-fi always takes place in random quarries. Bonus points if it's just a soundstage with a giant pile of drywall and foam rocks.
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
Loath as I am to defend Elongated Muskrat, I wouldn't be surprised if this is "slamming on the brakes disengages autopilot, and the automatic braking system slamming on the brakes also turns off autopilot" situation that Tesla took advantage of to escape responsibility rather than actively designing Autopilot to go "oh no I'm about to crash, better turn off so it's not my fault."
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
Honestly, this is probably the case, because it seems a lot closer to the level of competence on display by all involved.
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
Also, depending on how much you trust Tesla's own statistics, their methodology does take this into account:
To ensure our statistics are conservative, we count any crash in which Autopilot was deactivated within 5 seconds before impact.

Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
So it wasn't Autopilot that caused the crash, it was a separate but related totally automated system that Tesla designed that caused the crash, and therefore your argument is invalid.
Re: Adventures of the Longest Muskrat
No? I'm just saying that I don't believe Autopilot Is Crashing is the cause of disengaging autopilot when it's much more likely that Emergency Braking Of Any Kind disengages autopilot, and there's enough wrong with Tesla that's blatant and documented (like the rampant racism, union-busting, shoddy construction, selling people camera-based assistive driving and calling it "autopilot") that there's no reason to engage with conspiracy theories that they're also sneakily dodging all responsibility for killing some of the people who put more trust in "autopilot" than they should have.
