Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)
Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)
Is there any idea as to if Thomas' wife will get any fallout from this? I know Clarence has refused to recuse himself so I'm guessing no?

What I've heard her accused of so far is unethical AF but AFAICT not illegal. I could see her facing an ethics investigation and losing her position on the Library of Congress Trust Fund Board, but I haven't seen a convincing case for charging her with any crimes.
It's possible that could change and more information could come out. But what I'm hearing right now is that even for Trump the best case they can make against him with the information we have so far is conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding.
Which, y'know, if he ultimately gets charged with that, or anything punishable by prison, I'll take it. If you can put Al Capone away for tax evasion, you fucking do it.

Oh dang, yeah, that all makes sense.

I have nothing to say about today's testimony other than "I bet they could have convinced Rudy to get in the car."

What I'm seeing on legal Twitter today is that Hutchinson's testimony was a game-changer and now there's a plausible case for incitement. I'm seeing that take from people who were previously extremely skeptical of a prosecution for incitement.
More from Renato Mariotti.
This is not, of course, a guarantee that the DoJ will prosecute Trump, or that a jury will convict him if they do. Or that the Supreme Court won't overturn it if they do. I'm not prepared to get my hopes up just yet. But apparently today's hearing makes incitement charges significantly more likely than they were yesterday.

Hutchinson has balls the size of Jupiter.

Would the Service Agent have the authorization to pry off Trump's hands if it came down to that?

Also, "Cleaning ketchup off the wall." is an incredible phrase.
No joke, that's some top-tier use of the English language.
Now let's get one of the actual traitorous assholes to flip. We know they're a bunch of craven scum, so who wants to try and save his skin first?

Kids today don't understand real, honest work, they don't appreciate feeling of sweat on their brow as they topple an elected government.

About what I expected. DoJ had no intention of going after Trump, Hutchinson's testimony makes it significantly more likely than it was before but still not likely.

FBI executes search warrant at Trump's Mar-a-Lago, former President says
Not much information as yet, but, uh, that seems like kind of a big deal?
