IMO, the fact that he does it all while not breaking "character" is what puts it over the top.

Seems like we probably discussed this at some point, but there was a Japan-only Saturn port of the original Suikoden. It was mostly the same, though it had a few differences, including a new intro; this is the best version I could find on the YouTubes:
