The Pinnacle

Hello. I have something very important to show you.

However, you will need context first.

So most of you are probably aware of this semi-newfangled weirdo thing called ASMR, or "Autonomous sensory meridian response".

Per wikipedia:

"is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia,[5] it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia[6][7] and may overlap with frisson.[8]

ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.[1][9] A genre of videos intended to induce ASMR has emerged, over 13 million of which had been published on YouTube by 2018.[10]"

Anyway, person speaks softly (usually whispering) into a mic and you get pleasant tingles and you get sleepy.

There's a lot of variants of this. Sometimes people will sing, sometimes they will pretend they are cleaning your ears, sometimes they will tap on objects.

Anyway, as noted above, a whole fucking community has sprung up basically overnight.

"What the fuck," you may ask. "What the hell even is this shit? I don't get it."

Yeah, it doesn't work on everyone. I got in early before it went fully cosplay insane and I still use it mostly to fall asleep. Don't ask me why it makes me sleepy, it just does. The point of this thread is not to sell you on ASMR, I don't care about that.

Here is a basic example of an ASMR video.

Note I have no idea what this girl is saying, it doesn't matter. It just makes me tingly and sleepy. It may instead annoy the shit out of you. That's also a common reaction.

Of course, the internet being the internet, things evolved from there.

Your favorite video game or anime waifu can heal you!

Oh, you want to tame a tsundere dragon girl? There's a whole fucking series about this character and yes I have watched all of them.

anyway, there is also (of course) an erotic version of these videos, ranging from the tame (girlfriend cuddling with you in bed) to the actual video on pornhub (wet pussy sounds). I'll refrain from linking pornhub videos.

Anyway, the crown jewel of all of the weirdness was a video where your wife, a Chinese girl from the future who you haven't met yet, travels back in time and tries to convince you she's your wife. While whispering to you and poking you and being tsundere.

I remember seeing that video and thinking "this is it. This is the most lulzy thing humanity will ever create."

I was wrong.

I present to you The Pinnacle of Human Achievement.

Yes, you can open Bee Movie on Netflix, mute it, and sync it up with this video so you are watching the movie with the ASMR track if you want.

We did it, guys. I'm so proud of everyone.

I get naturally-occurring ASMR, but I've never quite figured out what triggers it, seems awfully random.

Kind of sad I don't have happen as much as I used to.

Whispering definitely ain't a trigger though.
