I think the best thing about that is that Sesame Street has tackled things tough enough that you could almost see that as a plausible scene.

I love shit like this. We're so conditioned to be used to everything being far too drab. The endless identical silver cars, buildings with little colour or thought to the exterior. I know we have a lot of soul-destroying problems, but I don't understand why western designers have embraced bland soulless design so heartily.

I know the easy answer is "money" but I don't think even that fully explains it.

I wasn't too crazy for it at first, but I've come to appreciate the place my parents lived at for the 00s and the colors they painted it. Nothing I would've picked, but I'm glad they went with something unique.

And I was thinking about how boring cars are the other day. I've always heard the popular colors were for resale, but I really wonder about that. Is everyone just trying to not stand out or something?

The color of the vehicle I've purchased has never been more than an afterthought. Bland probably appeals to the people with the dosh to buy cars new.
