The Super Bowl/Taylor Swift memes have so far been unable to make me smile, but today I discovered that the secret to my meme heart is the X-files.

Superbowl coverage has gotten so fucking weird up here the last few years.

If you went by the actual news you'd think they were reporting on a Swedish football league or something. If you went by the grocery flyers, you'd think Allegiant Stadium was here, not Vegas.

I mean, there's plenty of NFL fans in Canada, no reason there wouldn't be; even if it's not nearly as full on insane as it is in the US, it's still a reasonably brobdingnagian deal for devoted sports fans. But various Canadian media swing hilariously to the extremes.
