I love shit like this. We're so conditioned to be used to everything being far too drab. The endless identical silver cars, buildings with little colour or thought to the exterior. I know we have a lot of soul-destroying problems, but I don't understand why western designers have embraced bland soulless design so heartily.
I know the easy answer is "money" but I don't think even that fully explains it.
There are a ton of new buildings in town, and just like all the McDonalds remodels, they're all done in Brutalism style.
Now, I know Brutalism has its admirers. But I absolutely despise it and these new ugly ass buildings are so beyond eyesores as to make me actually make faces whenever I drive by them.
