I knew that Welles was a Muppets fan, but this is nearly as awesome as the LBJ doodles.

I get what they're saying, usually there's a wholesale distributor between producer and storefront. Sysco is the big one and they're terrible.
Pretty skeptical Trader Joe's uses zero distributors, though.

Also, even farmer's markets are often bullshit anyway. If nothing else, you have nothing to indicate if a farmer with a stall is selling their own produce or treating their workers even remotely fairly.
Only place to go to get fresh lettuce anymore though, WTF is with that. Haven't been able to buy fresh lettuce at a grocery store, even an expensive one, in like... five years.

I've seen reports (from sources that seemed reliable, but that I didn't actually do any further research on) that claim the vast majority of Trader Joe's items are literally just name-brand products with the labels changed.
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.

The way you can tell is recalls.
That said, the produce is a little different from the packaged stuff and I'm not sure where it comes from.

But that's the point of murdering someone on a hike, to leave their body out in the woods.
