Penis or Rocky Mountain Oysters? Penis or Rocky Mountain Oysters? My good sir, as you should be well aware of from the name it's not a proper cock & ball torture unless both the cock and the balls are involved. Now I hear you asking "who are you, telling us what is and isn't cbt?" And I say, good sir, that I am none other than Jonathon Mayberry, current owner and proprietor of Mama Mayberry's Cock & Ball Torturarium.
Now for those of you not experienced in the field, Mama Mayberry's has over 200 years of family run cock & ball torture history. That's a level of both experience and dedication you just wont get at these fly-by-night cbt establishments. So remember, when you want your cock & balls tortured right, Mama Mayberry's'll squeeze 'em tight!

I put that on as I was making my bed, leaving me with approximately 20 more minutes after it ended to go crazy and rant. Now I'm going to type it out here as a punishment.

Yeah but we all know how "Worst Game EVAR" lists are prone to hyperbole. (Parish spent a good chunk of his NES Works episode on Deadly Towers pointing out that guys like Seanbaby and AVGN exaggerate for comic effect, and while the game isn't good it's also not even close to being the worst game on the NES.)
What are the top 4? The two DOS Mega Man games and a couple of '90s FMV games?

I have no idea, haha. And I agree. Obviously almost ANY video game commentary from 1996 is bound be a little, uh, dated.
Just for some reason that detail had me laughing and laughing. I still think it's funny, though it's hard to put my finger on why exactly - perhaps its the redoubling effect of having an irrelevant silly fact about an irrelevant and silly fact.
Now I'm remembering how, for a short while around that time, I bought an import British magazine about Amiga games even though I never owned an Amiga. The content was mostly incredibly caustic game reviews (even for ones with good ratings) which were screamingly hilarious in that very British Comedy. Even with nearly ZERO context I still thought the magazine was a riot.
Proooooobably wouldn't hold up so well now that I'm no longer 16, but it's not like I'm about to go and verify that.

Seems to be less a critique of the games themselves and more a critique of the trends of PC gaming circa 1996: overly complex sims, shock value, and poor attempts at interactive multimedia.

These guys? https://theweekly.co.uk/ap2
Their most famously caustic reviewer went on to found a popular Scottish independence blog, but unfortunately spends half his political energies there railing against the struggle for transgender rights. I don't think I'll ever understand the motivations behind that kind of thing.
Edit: Not AP, hmm. There was one literally called Edge?

Not Amiga Power... I think.
I remember they had a "mean" letters page.
Also, good lord, that website.

Anyone aquainted with the virtual idol group Hololive? Well get your ass over to TvTropes to learn more. In the meantime, here is a cute anime dog girl playing Doom 2016
