Look, if we're doing 70's shows, then there's no way I'm leaving this one off the list.

This is an extended version which stitches together footage from various seasons' openings to provide a full video for Mike Post's full music track - which was a top ten hit in 1975! (Cleaner audio copy, but no video here)

It also uses Andy Kaufman telling off Jerry Lawler on the Letterman Show as this "episiode's" voicemail message, which is goddamned hilarious and fits so perfectly (if you never watched the show, the message left on the machine was different for every single show, and were pretty much always some bit of bad news).

While her death was reported earlier today, the Washington Post has corrected its story to report that Tanya Roberts is still alive but in the ICU; the Guardian says she suffered a fall and is in poor condition. A few in her honor:

Since this thread feels like it's turning into "link every intro sequence you remember seeing in your entire life" here's Regular Show
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.

Some people just have a much lower bar to ass blasting.

I've been trying to avoid big stuff, like Eva or JoJos, or really anything that's been meme'd to death. After the first page it's mainly been stuff that comes to mind from like 20 years ago when I'm actively thinking about it while looking at the thread. Speaking of.

Aight, hipster time. Uchūsen Sagittarius had Québécois, Slovakian, Spanish, German, Russian and Arabic dubs, but not an English one; if you've seen this before I will eat a small piece of something I would not typically eat.

Hey that reminds me. Here's a French cartoon that a friend and I were obsessing over a decade ago:

Some of you might remember Wakfu. The second season intro got much more dynamic, once the animation team had the budget and know-how.

I guess there was a third season a few years ago? I haven't looked it up lately.

setting up a plex playlist to just pick us a random episode of tales that we haven't already watched has been a fruitful decision

I had been avoiding posting this, despite being in my head at least once a week, because I had been misinformed graham terfham was involved. Was very happy to learn otherwise this morning!

Finally getting around to watching the final season of the 2012 TMNT series. I kinda dig what they did with the titles; kind of a Saul Bass thing going on.

...it really shouldn't have taken me three viewings to notice it's got a more-than-passing resemblance to the Venture Bros opening, but in my defense there hasn't been a new Venture Bros episode since 1997 and they stopped using the opening title sequence somtime in the mid-'80s.

Yeah, definitely a similar vibe. They're all kinda doing that same '60s/'70s retro style.

Yeah, there's lots of James Bond mixed with Cowboy Bebop throughout
