It's... pretty detached, and really more of a Gurren Lagann ref. But he made the zones around the same time Frocto was playing ek2. Thus, the famous "Libera Me From Hell" song that plays at the end of the game was on our minds, and he included it as a series of quest names in Felwood. Which is, by the way, my favorite zone from a mechanical standpoint. The quests just flow so nicely from south to north, they're all straightforward and non-irritating, and plus you get the rainbow generator trinket.
Vashj'ir remains my favorite zone aesthetically, even if actually questing there is a pain due to human brain being bad at navigating 3D spaces.

just remember that the enemy's gate is down, like the hell that all homosexuals will burn in

This is pretty wild: Three well-known disability advocates within the games industry were imaginary. There's no evidence to suggest these women existed, and may have just been the creation of one guy, Coty Craven.
Re: Game musings and news
I hadn't heard anything about this in awhile so I looked into it a bit more, saw some people on Reddit saying it was misinformation.
On closer examination, some of the details are wrong (or have been fixed) but the basic story is accurate.
Capcom did add Enigma to old games; the DRM was not clearly marked in the Steam store at the time but is now.
And the article is correct in saying Enigma was added to "multiple Mega Man Legacy Collection titles"; some people mistakenly inferred that included Mega Man Legacy Collection, but it doesn't. However, the Battle Network and Zero/ZX collections do have Enigma.
Also, there was some reporting that this affected Deck compatibility. If it did, that's subsequently been fixed (and it's possible it never did; RE: Revelations got a patch that broke Deck compatibility at the same time it added Enigma, but given that no other game had similar issues it seems probable that Enigma didn't cause it, some other change in the patch did).
On the whole, though? The story's accurate. Capcom added a dodgy DRM scheme of questionable origin to a bunch of games people had already bought, including single-player games.
Re: Game musings and news
Unity is dropping the Runtime Fee so everyone will talk about that and not the massive hike to their subscription fees
Re: Game musings and news
I mean, unfortunately for them most of the talk I've seen about it has been "hahahaha too little too late" and "I'm still never coming back".

UFO 50 sounds pretty cool. Reminds me of Retro Game Challenge.
