Sports?! But I'm a nerd!
Re: Sports?! But I'm a nerd!
Finally, the Raptors are known for a second thing.

Pretty sad that Kevin Durant got Two Days To Retiremented on his free agency but I admit I think it's pretty funny that the guy the Warriors won with when he was on the court and lost without was undone by a torn Achilles Heel.

Klay Thompson too.
Of course in his case he was clearly the one who wanted to go back in with a torn ACL. Durant's decision is more a spread-the-blame around sort of deal; either his medical team fucked up, or Durant overrode their decision because he wanted to play. Stars like Durant employ people specifically to guard against that sort of thing, so no idea where his agent, GM, etc. where when their meal-ticket either self-destructed or was grossly ill-served by quackery.
Sucks for them both regardless.

Incidentally, I was glad Toronto lost game five after the ghastly way the fans treated KD that night. Classless; downright gross even. I was fucking embarrassed.
That rallied GS and the fans got what they deserved. If GS had gone on to win the series on the back of that anger, I would have said this city had it coming.
In any case the Raps themselves played pretty fucking classy (and well, obv), so at least the team deserved the win.

Don't you worry. He'll return in Darkman II.

This might just be the craziest shot in any sport ever.
Like... goddamn, that's ludicrous.
On what level does the human brain and body have to be working on for the brain to project the ball even getting near the hole AND THEN translate that to such exactingly precise motion of the body to make it happen?
There's some luck here, obviously, but even so!

How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.

For the record, the part where his acting friends just let him improvise everything as he couldn't memorize his lines, so one night he just lifted the villain of the play and threw him across the stage easily is my absolute favorite thing I have ever read.
Also, he reminds me very strongly of The Tick.
