Jimmy Buffet Presents: Animal Crossing (New Horizons Thread)

Postby beatbandito » Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:19 pm

For posterity the switch code is: SW-2532-1417-3618

I just had a great rando interaction in New Horizons, some of the best community experience since Glitch (you know, the mmo made by the Slack and Flicker guys?). Dodo codes for one-time visitors are great, so are restrictions on visitor tools and just about everything else they added in this version.

Like AC already? I guess you probably already have it. Don't know yet? It's basically a paper doll game but also the entire island is also a paper doll with a little bit of actual game but mostly just the customization. This is absolutely the best title in the line so far.

I am also a god king thanks to careful balance with my control of time and space so other than rare resources I can hook you up.

We got this on Friday. By Sunday, Julie had purchased a Switch Lite and her own copy of the game.

I'm fucking dying to play this but I don't got no Switch and literally every Switch that exists has been bought.

Dang, that's pretty good. It's hard to say whether I'm more impressed by the power of the pro design tools or more unimpressed by how poorly I've used them.

I took good advantage of the Reality Gem before patch 1.1.1 took that from me. Have used up the need for the Time Gem. Already mastered and have mostly used up the Rality Gem you're given after "story completion"...

Now it's time for the Soul Gem...

We're looking at 20 days straight of me being stuck inside my room.
This game has been my only social interacting outside social media.

I've also been having a blast with the editor and all the things you can do with it.

Dunno if anybody's desperate to unload turnips today—it's only Tuesday—but Aintaer has open gates right now with 250+ bells per turnip at the Cranny.

Bluestrand is open, if still a desolate noob town. It also just occurred to me that this is the first AC game I've actually paid for instead of getting incidentally peer-pressured into.

Finally got this going and if anyone has an old game villager they really really want I can get them. But the process is:

3 days of inviting them to my island campsite and asking to move in.
1 day of in-boxes and losing an existing villager.
3 days of inviting another villager by campsite.

And one week after the process starts you can "adopt" the villager if you have an empty plot that hasn't been claimed yet.

I think I can spread out any of the three campsite visits out to buy time, and try to line it up so when you get someone in-boxes I ask them to move out and the next day you can talk to them. But it'll be a delicate process either way.

In hindsight the crude oil drums were an unwise investment as well...

This is also my first-ever shirt design!

If anyone has roses native or gets Leif in selling them please lmk. It's the last flower type I need and all my discord channels are about trading breeded flowers, but I just want the seeds to do it myself.

I have mostly Bamboo, Wood, and Iron to gift for access.

I have neither Leif nor native roses available in Nook's, but I DO have 5 white-rose bags and 9 yellow-rose bags I can send your way, if you need.

Can't remember if I ever posted my friend code, but just to be thorough, it's SW-5837-9374-6589.

Thank you for the offer. I was able to meet up with someone through Nooknet that let me come buy them no charge though. And I already have you friended, so happy day!

I do wish there were a way to add in-game friends without already interacting though. The ability to send mail or just leave a gate open with no dodo code is great, even if you never do best friending.

Kayma visited Loose Leaf for some stargazing tonight!
The rest of you lot will have to visit soon.

I'm tempted to buy this just to attempt a recreation of DeathSpank in peaceful island form.

I touched up my entrance and made a new informative sign detailing fun facts of Loose Leaf and it's history and ecology!
