do you have a nearby forest, or do you have to drive somewhere? Despite living in California, I don't have any nearby forests unless I go for a hour drive into the mountains or so, due to living in the Sacramento Valley and everything being farmland as far as the eye can see. So I'm always jealous of people who have forests in their backyards.

Yeah, sorry, those woods are one block from my place as the crow flies or the trespasser walks. Even taking the long way it's only a few blocks.
I'm also a ~12 minute walk from downtown and a <5 minute walk to two parks, and 30 minute walk to work. My apartment is ideally situated.

I visited my mom over the weekend. She lives right next door to a walnut orchard that... the kids could have some fun there, especially since it's all overgrown with large tree sprouts and bushes. Hell, I wish we were allowed to play Nerf games in there because I'm still a middle-schooler at heart.

Still, even the brobdingnagiest walnut tree is dwarfed by the oaks and sycamores scattered here and there between the mobile homes. It feels like an intrusive thought, but the place feels more like a factory than a wilderness or even a park. ETA: I forgot one very important plus side to the infinite fruit engine: a markedly high chance of meeting dogs and/or cats who are happy to meet you.

The meds I take are mildly dehydrating/cause dry mouth, so I drink, I dunno, about 1.5-2 gallons of water a day? Like, as a non-hyperbole number.

And of course it's all gotta go out again.

It doesn't bother me all that much though? Honestly I don't know why it doesn't, because a significant fraction of my day is now spent pissing and I basically can't go anywhere without being somewhat thirsty constantly. I mean I was a frequent pisser before but now we're talking at least a dozen times a day - though I somehow manage only once or twice per night, and usually when I have to wake up to give the cats early breakfast anyway.
