The 75th Annual Brontogames

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Combat has been made slightly more deadly to help people have more of a chance vs full health targets.
Old: Hits inflict injury 70%, serious 20%, kill 10%
New: Hits inflict injury 60%, serious 25%, kill 15%
These new numbers also apply to Betrayals.

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Frocto sleeps through the day.
Grath sleeps through the day.
Newbie hunts for food! (35+10%) He finds deer and stabs it with spear! Deer are literally breeding explosively! Deer have stripped all vegetation! No plant life leads to mass extinction of all animal life! Game over!
Romo sniffs around for water. (35+20-8%) He finds a stream and drinks his fill, reducing his thirst to zero and won't be gaining thirst this cycle. However, he has no canteens.
Team Klazzer moves to The Lake. They enter Confrontation with Newbie.
Beatbandit sneaks down to the Lake. He sneaks successfully! Grabbing a single canteen from under the noses of Newbie, Mongrel, and team Klazzer, he flees back to the Open.
Mizore hunts for food. (35+10%) He finds deer, of course, since they are literally now filling the universe, but can't quite catch one.
Mongrel uses his medkit, takes another ration, and moves to The Lake. He enters Confrontation with Newbie and team Klazzer.
Mothra hunts for deer. (35-5-4%) He finds the last rabbit, fleeing for its life from the ravenous deer which have now become carnivores in their desperate hunger.
***********************************
Ok, Confrontation time. Mongrel, Newbie, Klazzer, you must each send me actions.
If you run, then just say run. Otherwise, I'm gonna need separate actions for each active party (i.e. I attack Newbie, offer alliance to Klazzer, or I attack Kazz, offer alliance to Mongrel)
Quoting here because page break.
Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Oh also obviously Klazzer you have to attack/offer alliance as a team. You can't attack while also offering alliance. You can run individually, though.
EXCEPT
this just occurred to me
MID-CONFRONTATION BETRAYAL
A player may betray mid-confrontation. This has the usual effect (auto hit entire team) but then they may also stay and fight, offering alliance to other players.

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Newbie takes the fuck off while team Klazzer welcomes Mongrel into the fold.
So, Team Klazzrel, you gonna chase?

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Klazzrel gives chase!
Newbie is a runner, and none of them are, so... 35%!
Kazz falls behind!
Laser catches up!
Classic falls behind!
Mongrel falls behind!
It's now a 1v1! No, the rest of the team can't catch up now!
Laser, Newbie... send actions! Newbie, you can't run for two rounds!

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Laser goes at Newbie with his blade! (35+15-5%) His first swing is wild!
Newbie recovers and squares off. The two Brontos circle each other warily.
Newbie lunges first with his spear! (35+10%) A hit! Laser is injured!
Laser returns fire! (35+15-5-4%) But his injury slows him and Newbie dodges away! (First Strike injury prevented return blow.)
Newbie again attacks with his longer range! (35+10%) But this time, Laser ducks under!
He comes up swinging! (35+15-5-4%) Another narrow miss! (Injury prevented blow again.)
Newbie turns tail and runs.
Laser, do you pursue?

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Using my brain, I rolled the chance in the hopes you'd fail to catch, in which case I'd just move on to the next phase, since whether you chased or not was irrelevant.
However, you caught him, so. If you want another go, you got it. There's no real reason why you can't know the results in advance, since the only reason you'd have for chasing is to catch anyway.

Laser lets Newbie go.
He returns to his Alliance at The Lake.
It is now Night 2. Send actions.

I think Knorpse has most folks attention at the moment. That's fine.

If there is any doubt, let it be put to rest: I sent my action tree in a while ago.

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Oh right, I started an uprising a while back. Now the seat of government has been left vacant as we war in the streets of central. Guess we forgot to let everyone else out. Whoops.
Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
Hey kids.
Let me first apologize.
I didn't post here for as long as I did because I was mulling around in my head if I wanted to continue this; The short answer is: I don't.
The long answer is:
It's not your fault, if it's anyone's fault it's mine. As has been previously mentioned the way this game is structured/designed/whatever causes it to progress very slowly. Any one person missing (including myself) causes everyone to slow to their speed. When Ek4 showed up it's true I was distracted for a bit, but in the end, it's just not fun for me to run this, due to both having to constantly track people down/poke them for actions, and the amount of work involved in keeping track of everyone's everything in order to properly roll outcomes.
I think a game like this could be a lot of fun if it was simplified somewhat. If anyone wants to take over running what's left of this game, I'm more than fine with that. Just say so here and I'll give you the PMs I have and you can run it. Feel free also to change any rules as you see fit.
Anyway, I'm grateful for you guys humoring me and my crazy games. It actually means a lot to me that I can basically rile up 12 or so of you whenever I want to playtest my bullshit. I just don't think this particular one was a success, at least on my end. Too much work. Wolf is also a lot of work but a good amount of it can be done by the players because they post in the thread, where here it's basically just me while you guys PM me behind the scenes.
Again, thanks, and I apologize for not finishing this out.
I'd announce the nominal winner here but pretty sure i already mentioned it was Kazz

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
The tributes have proven the perfect combination of boring and unmanageable to lose the interest of the nation! At long last, we've hit the architects if the Brontogames where it hurts: the time of revolution is at hand!

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
For the record, I'd be willing to finish this out even if I wasn't enjoying myself (I've done it for other games I've run in the past when I'd lost interest in them for whatever reason, not that that has happened more than once or twice) but the sheer amount of work I know it would take is just so daunting. Sorry guys.

Re: The 75th Annual Brontogames
In the source material only half the tributes made it out of the Cornucopia event, making things easier to follow for everyone.
What I'm saying is you guys are weak and cowardly and you all had this coming.
(My wife points out that when things get slow or dull is when the Capital starts throwing forest fires and floods and viciously mocking birds at the players, so you all have something really unpleasant coming as soon as Friday figures out what that might be.)
