I've got a couple others in mind, probably going to involve some old Warcraft guildies. Maybe... I dunno. Spelunking or something. I'll probably be drawing those folks til I'm old and grey.

I got another gang of idiots going on the comic replacement game. I was running it for a while, but they finally dragged me in. This was what I sent in:

I finally got the guts to try some Nerf fanart of all things. Reddit seems to love it, and dA is a dead fish as usual.

And since this was kind of intended as a two-parter, I guess I better finish the other half.

Ah, that makes me nostalgic as all hell! I like it - sorry dA is the image of a tombstone, but it's also where I met a dear friend, so I can't dunk on it too much. (Plus, my normally fearless demeanor turns to jelly when I think of reddit, so, ix-nay for me on that.)

This pretty much perfectly captures that 'oh, am i running OR gunning?!' moment inevitable right in a nerf battle.

And there's the other half. Amazing how sudden popularity can light a fire under your butt.

I'm actually a brobdingnagian fan of the Triad and the jolt is maligned but is a rad looking gun. Top choice for cosplay or sci-fi game inspo.

Our nerf games had to ban the swords because some people would "fix" them to hurt people. The last guy on the hip: one of the Deadlands guns? I fell out after our group disbanded.

Also I think the drawings are really fun and the poses show a lot of action and character.

Ah, I'm glad sudden popularity gave you a bit more inspiration - and excellent work!... also 'make sex not war' perfect...
That loadout though, I'd probably die!.. Also, this is making me miss paintball. Even though I prefer autumn, to miss summer so intently! Gah!
(And they're even more fun when lined up together, I love all the energy!)

p.s. Lottel did we have the same group? I had to corner one guy who defended it as making the game more 'real'; he was the one who left in our posse, but the group itself fell apart for other reasons not too long after. seriously how does making a nerfblade dangerousish make them more real what is WRONG with people

Well, the guy who made his nerfblade dangerous also built a cardboard riot shield and armor and said that since the dart never touched him, he never was out.

He's basically why we stopped nerf. The restaurant would pay for guys if you didn't want to/couldn't so it wasn't the money.

We had another guy customize a gun and the spring was so strong, it left a welt from across the room. He dismantled the gun so people wouldn't use it.

This shit could get dangerous.

God, machismo is the bane of these games. I had a great airsoft group at my last office job, but whenever we joined up with another or visited a professional center it was all wannabe SAS with their gear cranked up to just barely legal power levels. Really not into hobbies that might burst an eye.

Paintball was no different. You'd have the guys cranking their pressure as soon as they were out of sight of the field's testers, never mind the classic problem of "wipers".

They reckon those guys were almost fully aquatic now so the beachwear is definitely on point.

I feel like I'm looking at a still from a 90's cartoon. Take that however you will.

You say necroposting, I say thread recycling!

I mentioned hearing a frog chirping in the wisteria growing in our backyard. Silversong said it sounded like it'd make a nice hanafuda card, so I had to try.

Also, I hope it's okay for me to link straight to Mastodon files. I don't know what the bandwidth limits are like.
