I was spooked for sure but I distinctly remember a small portion of my intellect going "I appreciate the aesthetics of this vehicle".

Had a long series of dreams revolving around the theme of me being in high school while being an adult with a full-time job. In one I was failing because of having a job, in another there was an earthquake and I ended up staying in the classroom to make sure everyone got out safely (because adult), and in another some kid attached himself to me because he wanted to learn more about adulthood.

Put like that it all sounds really symbolic but they were mostly surrealistic nonsense like dreams usually are.

There's an enduring affection for proper horror monsters because at least they respect us enough to put the work in on their clothes and hairdo before the rampage.

I had a really great dream last night, I wish I could remember it better. I know a friend and I were escorting a disguised queen through a crowded city, and then we were attacked.

I started off fighting with a rapier and my friend with a longsword, but at some point I started fighting two women who were dual-wielding parasols and then I also switched to parasol.

I dreamed there was an old model of MG (though it actually looked kind of Jaguar-ish or maybe Alfa-Romeo-ish) that could fly. I wasn't looking for it, I randomly found someone who had a nicely-restored wine-coloured one they were trying to sell as part of hoarder estate sale on the site of a shuttered gas station. So it basically looked like a giant trash sale, except there was this one really nice classic car buried in the listings.

Obviously I can't fly and don't have a pilot's license so mostly I just drove it normally, but I did take it to a track and sort of Wright Brothers'd around the oval.

Mostly I was just geeking out about it to everyone I knew.

So anyway, I dreamed I bought a flying car, fuck yeah.

Oh, dream logic.

"Oh, a nice flying car, not just a junky flying car like you see all the time. Too bad I don't have a license or I'd ride my flying car. This thought process makes complete sense."

Well, in the dream it was a rare gimmick/experiment carmakers didn't seem to do anymore (just a 60's thing maybe?), so this would have been more akin to finding, say, a DeLorean or a Bricklin. Or a Honda CB400/500/750A Hondamatic (which for over 30 years from the late 70's early 80's onwards was the only motorbike to have an automatic transmission, because purists are idiots).

But yeah, dream logic. :D

Pretty sure we've all been woken up by a dream, but I don't remember being woken up because of a dream bug.

I was somehow stuck in a very empty cloakroom with Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, and a bunch of other faceless folks. Sanders suddenly starts yelling "Look! It's a large eastern beetle! Catch it!" Like all excited, not scared. I tried to catch it, but it ran up my arm and burrowed into my hair, and I guess the wiggling woke me up.

But it was really more cute than creepy! Thinking about it now, it looked most like a white-spotted sawyer, and I got the feeling it was more scared than anything. Made me think of how our lovebird would do the same before he decided I needed to fucking die. Like "help me hide from the crazy old man, mister!"

Ah, a Late-to-a-Class-I-Didn't-Study-For dream... except it was to a kindergarten class, while still being a 30-something mess.

Oh, and I'm naked for good measure? Well, not quite. Managed to clothe myself... in a tacky Simpsons-themed button-down.

Man, just three weeks in and this online pre-kinder is really messing with my head.

Giant Armored Acid-Spewing Cockroach might be the most video game thing I've ever encountered in my subconscious.

I'm aphantasic, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphantasia) but just had a brief dream where I wasn't. (Setting: Sitting up awake in bed.) The circuits for visual imagination are there, then - I just have no conscious waking access to them.

I guess the existence of dreams should make that obvious, but absent the intense strangeness of that one I couldn't really be sure because of course I don't remember them visually.

Yeah the brain is fucking weird. Recent research has, for example, shed some light on long term amnesia, in that it's not so much that the information is gone as it is that the brain just cannot access it.

So maybe something similar is going on in your noggin.

The old fortune-teller warned me to beware of camels at midnight, and look out for tall white men.

I'm the tallest, whitest guy I know.

And "look out for" can be a warning, and it can also mean "care for"

so for now I'm parsing this as my own brain desperately crying out for some self-care

I'm usually asleep by midnight, so if I run into a tall white guy smoking Camels it'll be in my own bedroom, which yes, is reason to look out.

(The local zoo just posted a video of their five-month-old camels frolicking, but that's at 10:30 am, not midnight. Hmm...)

An anxiety dream with a positive outcome? I'll take it!

Romosome and I were at some huge combination shopping center and water park. From way up high on a hill. I could see he had just gotten out of a pool and was heading for the car. I could also see a cop heading straight for him, I presume to harass him for his skin tone and not wearing a shirt. I tried to hurry his way, but thankfully got to him first when the cop got hung up on some other group of people. I distinctly remember telling him "did you see that cop coming your way? C'mon let's Snake outta here," and also thinking "dang, did you lose weight? Looking good!"

Okay, it's almost 4am, gnight again

I don't normally really accomplish anything or have resolutions in my dreams. Different areas, plot threads, people, whatever generally just keep one thing rolling into the next until I wake up.

But last night all I remember from the end of the dream was some kind of sense of accomplishment, conclusion. The the Sonic Adventure character select screen showed up with a model of Metal Sonic and "you've unlocked Metal Sonic!".

I woke up completely flabbergasted.

Something about being stuck in a kind of Groundhog Day-style loop, hopping from one reality to another where things repeated themselves, maybe with something was just a little different every time, and nobody remembered what was happening except me. Most of the details are gone but I do remember that in every one of those loops, I was still married. LW was still alive.

Eventually I found whoever it was responsible for being stuck reliving the same experiences, and they threatened to send me to the worst universe imaginable.

I woke up.
